Shocking! Chiness Woman sets Lagos Hotel Ablaze

The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday said it arrested a Chinese woman, Zhen Zhen, for allegedly setting ablaze a hotel in the State. The command’s spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Nigeria lost about N1.12 trillion to holiday Extension-Experts

Nigeria lost about N1.12 trillion ($4 billion) of her total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to the additional one-day holiday declared by the Federal Government to mark the Eid-el-Fitr holiday, experts have said. After earlier declaring Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays to mark the Muslim festival, the Federal Government extended the holidays to Thursday because the moon was not sighted last Tuesday.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reiterated that no bank in the country is in distress, just as it reassured bank customers that their deposits are safe. The acting Director, Corporate Communications, CBN, Mr. Isaac Okorafor, in a statement last night, said the attention of the central bank was drawn to malicious rumours and unfounded speculations that some banks in the country might have gone or be going into distress.
