EFCC detains former Adamawa governor

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has detained the immediate past governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngillari, for his alleged role in the distribution of N450 million for the re-election of former President Goodluck Jonathan. Mr. Ngillari is being detained at the Gombe zonal office of the EFCC.

Sex Scandal: U.S accuses Nigerian lawmakers of attempted rape, soliciting prostitutes

The United States government has raised serious allegations of sexual misconduct and attempted rape against Nigerian lawmakers. The U.S. ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, made the allegation in a letter sent to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on June 9. The accused members are Samuel Ikon (PDP, Akwa Ibom), Mohammed Gololo (APC, Bauchi) and Mark Gbillah (APC, Benue).

We are not owing Shuaibu Amodu N25 million – Edo Govt

The Edo State Government has denied owing the late former Chief Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Shuaibu Amodu, N25 million. In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Peter Okhiria, on Wednesday, the government described as totally false and misleading reports that the state government owed the late Amodu Shuaibu N25 million.

Buhari extends vacation by 5 more days, to reurn on Sunday

President Muhammadu Buhari is no longer arriving the country today as scheduled. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo disclosed on Thursday that the president has extended his medical vacation by five days and will be back to the country on Sunday.
