I didn’t steal police vehicles — Ex-Police IG, Solomon Arase

Mr. Arase, who is in London for his son’s graduation, said in a statement on Monday that every information needed by his successor on vehicles bought by the police were in his handover notes. He said all vehicles bought by the police under him were distributed to the state commands and other appropriate units of the force.

Man narrates how Police In Lagos Follow him to ATM To Collect N10,000 Extortion

A television/film producer has narrated how policemen followed him to an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to collect a N10,000 bribe.  According to Benjamin Ogunbodede, an unmarried man, He was arrested and detained by police officers attached to Ajuwon Police Station in Ogun on an adultery charge and was eventually extorted of his money after being detained overnight. Ogunbodede said that he was detained between July 15 and 16 after he was arrested at about 10:30 pm while returning from work in the company of a lady he had given a lift in his car.

Justice Yunusa, Two Other Judges Sacked For Judicial Malpractice

The National Judicial Council of Nigeria (NJC) has dismissed Justice Mohammed Yunusa and two other judges for judicial malpractices. The NJC met on Thursday and Friday to consider several allegations of judicial misconduct by Justice Mohammed Yunusa of the Federal High Court, Justice Olamide Falahanmi Oloyede of the Osun High Court, and an unnamed judge from Benue State. At the end of its deliberations, the NJC decided that the three judges deserved to be dismissed for acts of gross misconduct.

Family of Kidnapped Lagos monarch yet to be contacted by kidnappers

The family of kidnapped traditional ruler of Iba town, Ojo Local Government Area, Lagos, Oba Yushau Oseni, says they have yet to receive any information from his abductors 24 hours after. The Nigerian Observer reports that the 74-year-old first class monarch was abducted from his palace on Saturday at about 8 p.m.

Eight Persons Remanded in Prison for alleged kidnapping in Akure
