Two graduates, Desmond Quadri and Richard Orji, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a woman in the Ajah area. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects had attended a party together where they had some bottles of alcoholic drink. After the party, 24-year-old Quadri was said to have gone into the bush to defecate and was accompanied by his friend, Orji, 25. The men, who had reportedly been friends for eight years, were said to have spotted the victim in her room alone and sneaked into the compound. Orji was alleged to have stabbed the 32-year-old in the shoulder and thigh, before taking her phones, Ipad, perfumes and other personal effects. Not done, the suspects allegedly took turns to rape her for about half an hour before leaving her for dead. Residents were said to have taken her to the hospital and reported the matter at the Ajah Police Division.    A bricklayer who allegedly killed his friend has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command. It was learnt that Demola Wasiu, an indigene of Ede, Osun State, stabbed the Ogun State indigene Lekan Omotosho, 27 in the armpit after he refused to charge his phone for him. The victim was said to have lost a lot of blood before he was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, where he died on Friday. The suspect, who was arrested by policemen from the Lion Building division, was later transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba. It was gathered that Omotosho was an apprentice in a mechanic workshop on Ajele Street, Lagos Island. He was said to have come to Lagos from Mowe, Ogun State, three months ago. It was revealed that the suspect, who had a bottle of beer in his hand, smashed it on the floor and stabbed Omotosho in the armpit after the fight broke out. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 tendered a myriad of documentary evidence before Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to further establish its claim on how the former Jigawa governor, Sule Lamido and his cohorts defrauded the State. Lamido is being prosecuted alongside his two sons: Aminu and Mustapha and two others on a 27-count charge bordering on abuse of office and money laundering. The other two on trial are; Bamaina Holdings Ltd and Speeds International Limited. With prosecution witness, PW 18, Micheal Wetkas, in the witness box, counsel to EFCC, Chile Okoroma, presented bank payment vouchers of Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company Ltd, invoices of Bamaina Company Ltd, waybills/delivery notes of Bamaina Company Ltd, copies of cheques of millions of naira from various banks, in favour of Bamaina Company Ltd.

Two men who are allegedly members of a syndicate that produces fake naira notes have been arrested by the police on Oluwakemi Street, in the Ojodu Abiodun area of Lagos State. PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspects – Hope Ihesiaba and his brother, Ifeanyi – were arrested by the Isheri Police Division on Saturday.

A family of three has been found dead inside their mini flat on Church Street, Lagos Island, after allegedly inhaling some chemical substance. Who sprayed the chemical into the apartment had been a thing of concern to the victims’ family members and residents of the area.
