A zoo keeper at Indonesia’s Surabaya zoo has landed in trouble after he was arrested and charged with impregnating a female orangutan, reports the Kalimantan Press. The 38-year-old zoo keeper was filmed in full action by a series of hidden cameras put in place by the zoo’s security officials after doubts emerged about the man’s devious actions towards the zoo animals. Rival Militants clash, blow up Eni oil pipeline in Bayelsa today

Rival militant groups clashed and attacked an oilfield operated by Eni's Nigerian subsidiary, Agip Oil Company (NAOC) at Ikeinghenbiri community in Southern Ijaw council, Bayelsa. According to Sahara Reporters , residents of the community have fled their homes following the clash. They say the militants were fighting for the control of the Ogboinbiri-Tebidaba crude trunk line which passed through their community. The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos in a landmark judgment has ordered former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Federal Government to “provide information on the spending of the alleged missing N30 trillion which represents some accruable income to the Federal Government during the last four years of the Administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.” The judgment was delivered last week by Hon Justice Ibrahim Buba following a Freedom of Information suit number FHC/L/CS/196/2015 brought by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP). SaharaReporters has learned that Hassan Tukur, who served as principal secretary to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been making shocking disclosures to agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since he was arrested and detained last week. Two senior EFCC sources told a correspondent of SaharaReporters that Mr. Tukur was arrested over allegations that he diverted the sum of $40 million ostensibly meant for the negotiated release of 219 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram militants in April 2014. One of our sources disclosed that Mr. Tukur has told investigators that he diverted the funds with the approval and at the instance of the ex-president. A 20 year old man, named by local media as Franco Luis Ferrada Roman, who was suicidal, stripped naked and entered a lion enclosure in a Chilean. The man broke into their cage early Saturday morning and offered himself to the lions horrifying other visitors who were at the zoo and witnessed the whole attack. When he entered the enclosure, the two lions immediately pounced on him and started to ,play' with him, severely mauling him. The zookeepers who tried to intervene shot the lions to save the man's life. Santiago authorities confirmed that the two lions who mauled the man were shot and killed as they severely mauled the man because they didn't have any fast acting tranquilizers. FG to cut meal allowances of top officials by 65%

Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun Barring last minute change in plans, the Federal Government plans a 65 per cent reduction in the allowances for refreshment and meals of top officials of government, an investigation has shown. The move is part of strategies aimed at reducing the recurrent expenditure as well as curb wastages in the management of government resources. It was learnt on Friday that the proposal for the reduction in meal allowances had been prepared by the Efficiency Unit in the Ministry of Finance and forwarded to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for ratification. The Efficiency Unit was set up by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, last year to reduce the recurrent expenditure, which has an outlay of N2.65tn in the 2016 budget. Victims Assailants suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Friday evening invaded Oke Ako in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State killing two people and injuring three. The assailants, numbering about 20, stormed the sleeping town around 8 p.m and unleashed terror on the residents. After the onslaught, one person died instantly, while four others that sustained gunshots and machete wounds were taken to the hospital in a police vehicle. The Boko Haram sect, who abducted over 200 school girls from Chibok two years ago, reportedly want to broker a deal with the Nigerian government. They are offering to release the remaining kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls in return for avoiding execution. Two of the girls were rescued recently. It is believed that only a third of the abducted girls are still alive. According to a report in The Times, senior members of the terrorist group said: "We want to surrender because things are getting worse," said Amir Muhammad Abdullahi, who is reportedly Boko Haram's second in command. He said no side was winning the battle and that only a third of the girls remained as "the rest have been martyred".

N23bn Diezani bribe: EFCC arrests ex-Zamfara gov, others

In continuation of its investigations into the $115m (N23bn) bribe allegedly disbursed by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, Sunday PUNCH learnt the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Saturday arrested a former Governor of Zamfara State, Mamuda Shinkafi; a former Secretary to the Government of Zamfara State, Aminu Nahuce; and Senator Hassan Nasiha, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Zamfara State. The fund was allegedly disbursed through Fidelity Bank during the build-up to the 2015 general election. Sources at the EFCC told our correspondent that the three PDP chieftains were arrested based on the statement of a former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, who reportedly confessed last week that he supervised the disbursement of N450m to leaders of the PDP in Zamfara State. An impeccable source at the anti-graft agency said, “Operatives of the EFCC Kano zonal office revealed how the
