Future of Nigeria :Gowon warns of looming danger

Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd), at the weekend, said the consequences of not putting Nigerian youths on the path of rectitude would be too hard to bear for the country, stressing that he foresees danger ahead. Nigeria’s Supreme Court sitting in Abuja today dismissed an appeal brought before it by the Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state challenging the territorial jurisdiction of the election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja. Mr. Wike had appealed a decision of the Court of Appeal which earlier held that the tribunal's location was in order. In its ruling today the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the lower court on the matter of jurisdiction.   Gov. Nyeson Wike    Four tribunals cited in Abuja have jointly cancelled the election of Mr. Wike and 21 members of the state house of assembly including the speaker, Owaji Ibani. The Supreme Court  ruling legitimizes the actions of the four tribunals and their judgements nullifying Mr. Wike's elections and those of other members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Mr Wike and his lawyers will now have to proceed to the Court of Appeal to challenge the cancellation of their elections within the

The woman in the central city of Zlitin gave birth to a set of septuplets in Zlitin Hospital, Libya. The Deputy Manager of the hospital Osama Al-Sari said that the septuplets are 6 boys and a girl weighing between 400 to 1100 grams, pointing out that the delivery surgery was carried out by three gynaecologists and one paediatrician. "The seven infants are in relatively unstable health conditions up until now because the equipment in the hospital cannot assist such cases, yet the mother’s health condition is very good." Al-Sari added.

Pastor Tunde Bakare Pastor Tunde Bakare has replied those who said he hates and likes to attack the former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu that there is no basis for attacking the politician, except in the figment of the imagination of some people.
