Sterling Bank introduces Flexi-time and Flexi-place policy.

Sterling Bank says it has come up with a policy that allows flexibility in work arrangement to promote work-life balance for its staff. In a statement by the bank on Sunday in Lagos, the bank said the policy was meant to continue to explore ways to improve the work environment and to demonstrate its philosophy of enriching lives. Sterling Bank said the introduction of Flexi-time and Flexi-place policy would continue to build a workplace that would elevate the culture of the organisation and enable self-actualisation.

FIRS shuts down Capital oil, others over tax Issues

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on Monday shut down tax defaulting companies in Lagos State and Imo State. In Lagos, the premises of Capital Oil Plc, owned by business mogul and politician Ifeanyi Ubah, was sealed by the FIRS enforcement team, led by Mrs. Anita Erinne. The staff of the company, which reportedly owes N30 million, were also evicted from the premises.

Britain's biggest ever education scam: Fraudster jailed nine years

 A Nigerian accountant and part-time pastor in the United Kingdom, Samuel Kayode, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for stealing £4.1million. Kayode was sentenced on Friday by Woolwich Crown Court in South London for defrauding Haberdashers’ Aske’s state schools in the UK. The part-time pastor, who earned £57, 000 per annum, was convicted after being found guilty of £150,000 theft and £3.95million fraud.

ConOil, owned by Nigeria’s second richest man is being pursued for a combined debt of over $140.5 million by two foreign and one local companies, PREMIUM TIMES has learned. Despite making several pledges to pay, ConOil and other companies owned by Mr. Adenuga have reneged on paying the debts, multiple sources in the oil and gas sector have told this newspaper. Things have got so bad that some of the creditor companies have either commenced or are considering commencing legal actions to force the billionaire businessman to pay up having exhausted all options to make him honour promises and agreement to pay.

Folarin Falana aka FalztheBahdGuy, Nigerian comic-rapper/actor, won the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award on Saturday  June 25th 2016. He was announced as the winner of the Viewers’ Choice in the “Best International Act” category. Falz was nominated alongside; Section Boyz (South London), WSTRN (West London), Emtee (South Africa), Tkay (Australia) and MHD (France) for the Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act.

EFCC files N21b Corruption charges against Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a suit bordering on money laundering against Air Marshal Adesola Amosu Nunayon (rtd) at the Federal High Court, Lagos. Amosu was charged alongside Air Vice-Marshal Jacob Bola Adigun and Air Commodore Gbadebo Owodunni Olugbenga. Other defendants in the suit include Delfina Oil and Gas Limited, Mcallan Oil And Gas Limited, Hebron Housing and Properties Company Limited, Trapezites BDC, Fonds and Pricey Limited, Deegee Oil and Gas Limited, Timsegg Investment Limited and Solomon Health Care Limited.
