Forgery Scandal: Saraki And Ekweremadu's Arraignment May Not Hold Today because........
The anticipated arraignment of the Bukola Sarakim Ike Ekweremadu and others for their alleged complicity in the forgery of the 2015 Senate Standing Rules that brought them into office may not hold today as planned.
Sources in the Federal Ministry of Justice told SaharaReporters today that the arraignment has been scheduled for today, but all enquiries made at Court 32 of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court, Abuja where the case has been assigned revealed that the necessary documents have not been served on all the defendants as required by law.
However, it was gathered that some proceeding might take place today where a date will be fixed for arraignment shortly after proper service is effected on the defendants through the clerk of the National Assembly.
The office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) filed a two-count charge on June 10 at the Registry of the High Court of FCT in which Saraki and others were charged with forgery and conspiracy.
Also joined in the charge are immediate past Clerk of the National Assembly, Abubakar Maikasuwa and Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Ben Efeturi.
Saraki is scheduled to be at the Code of conducted Tribunal for the continuation of his trial for false declaration of assets.
