So Sad! FCMB Manager Shoots Himself Dead Infront Of Priest Over Bad Loan
A Manager at a second generation bank, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc, Mr. Olisa Nwakobi on Friday evening shot himself dead in the presence of his Priest at the Lekki area of Lagos Island, Lagos State.
According to New Telegraph, Nwakobi was the approving officer of a loan that the debtor has failed pay back and he was in trouble with the bank.
With pressure mounting on all sides and apprehension over soiling his family name, the banker and father of a 10-year-old daughter shot himself.
The banker had met with his priest and told him to inform his wife to take care of their child and then proceeded to literally blow his brains out.
A source said, "It was discovered that he took some N350million from the bank under circumstances that are not very clear. The problems arising from the these challenges may have climaxed in his suicide said the source".
Nwakobi was the son of Chief Patrick Oguejiofor Nwakobi who was a former chairman of First Bank of Niger Plc, a successful lawyer , politician and a highly respected community leader before his death.
